Hello DHS Families,
Hello Durham High School students and parents. Welcome back to school. The high school staff is looking forward to kicking off the 2022-23 school year.High school is an exciting time and we here at Durham are committed to helping you realize your potential. We believe that academics are incredibly important as well as involvement in other programs. A few to keep in mind are:
- Career Technical Classes (CTE) not only helps develop career skills but leadership and possible opportunities to compete at a local, regional and state level with other students.
- Music performance and Visual arts are important for aesthetics, critical thinking, and possible career opportunities.
- Sports programs offer students the opportunity for teamwork, technical skill building, leadership, and the challenges of competition
- Associated Student Body (ASB) provides students the opportunity to learn how the school works and be a part of the decision making process
- Dual enrollment courses have the potential to give college credit and school credits

DHS Registration & Aeries Parent Portal Accounts Registration this year will no longer be a paper process. All families must establish an Aeries Parent Portal account if you do not already have an account created. Registration will be completed online using Aeries. Soon you will receive communication from the district office to let you know when you can go into the system to update your information.

Wednesday, August 10: 6:00 PM - Incoming Freshman and New students Durham High School will be hosting orientation for freshman and all new students. This event will give new students the opportunity to get their schedules, tour the campus with our ASB student officers, and meet some of the staff. You can also purchase your yearbook, ASB card, and visit other tables with information. Parents are also invited to attend the orientation. Help will be provided regarding logging into and setting up Aeries parent portals. More details will be shared as we get closer to the date.
Thursday, August 11: Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors
Go to the gym to order a yearbook, pay for your ASB card, get their class schedule (once parents have completed and logged into and updated their information on their Aeries parent portal), meet staff, and meet our FFA team.
Sophomores: 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Juniors: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Seniors: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Wednesday, August 17: 8:05 am - All Students FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL First Day of School Begins. We look forward to seeing you all! Please contact the office, website, or email us if you have any questions throughout the year.
