Block D

A DHS Tradition

Boy's Block D has been a tradition at Durham High for more than 30 years. Block D is an organization of male athletes.

In conjunction with the Girls Block Club (GBC), Block D runs a sports league for four weeks in the fall of each year. This consists of two weeks of passing league football, on the football field under the lights, and two weeks of volleyball in the gym.

Each year the club puts on a dance that is attended by students and the community at large. To the roar of the crowd, athletes at each grade level perform music from a different era, from be-bop to country and rap. There is also a wide range of activities, skits and dances, starring students and parents. It's a wonderful community event, and everyone always has a great time.
